To Experience Fraud

It never feels good when you are taken advantage of. Its embarrassing and hurtful. My husband and I just experienced fraud this past week. We lost a couple thousand dollars thinking that we were going to be getting a van. The blessings though that our Heavenly Father has given us during this hard trial are truly wonderful and we are so thankful for a loving Father in Heaven who does understand our situation and circumstances. BLESSINGS WE HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH: 1. WIC we got accepted and are now getting help with some basic groceries such as milk beans fresh veggies and fruits. This helps us tremendously when it comes to finances. 2. Cory passed his CLS Certification Test meaning that he will be gaining a $1.00 raise at work within a few weeks. That also helps with finances! 3. The money lost was a loan we received from my father, another blessing because he is very understanding of our situation and is willing to work with us with whatever we can afford when it comes to making payments so that he to may get his money back. 4. Another blessing.. the man who did fraud against us was trying to get another couple thousand from us but did not thankfully. 5. This is probably the biggest blessing of them all and for some it may be hard to understand but for the past 2 days I have felt inspired to share the Gospel with this man. So today I did just that! I shared mormon.org and lds.org with him. I told him we forgive him, and that he has been in our prayers that he may have a change of heart and come unto Christ. There is a scripture somewhere in the Book Of Mormon that talks about praying for your enemies and praying for those that do bad things to you. And I have been doing just that. I was in shock at first of course and angry. I grieved some too. But the thing that kept coming to my mind was that this is a good opportunity to share the gospel with someone. Bad things do happen to good people.. but honestly I am grateful that I have had this experience in my life. I have learned much from this and am thankful to my Father in Heaven who truly is mindful of me.

Temples..just what I need.

Realizing each time I go to the temple how important it is in my life. The blessings the love and the peace I feel when I go to the Temple is something amazing that I cherish and love. For me regular frequent attendance to the temple is so important because personally.. praying reading scriptures and going to church doesn't cut it for me. Going to the temple is beyond a "The cherry on top". I've had blessings given to me where in them them there were words said like "You need the temple and you need it a lot" and I really do. I see a difference a good change in myself when I go. I feel stronger and spiritually more connected. I feel Gods love. I hope to attend the temple more to partake of those blessings while doing service for others. My goal.. go once a week whether it is with my wonderful spouse Cory, with my mother, a friend, or just myself.. I need to go. I need the Temple in my life. I need the blessings. I need the help. I have had so many amazing sacred experiences in the Temple and I want more =) Last time I went I was with my wonderful husband and we went to the SLC temple saturday night. It was our first time to experience doing "Family Sealings" that was a real special moment. Tomorrow I have plans to go with my mother =) to the SLC temmple and this will be her first time to that Temple! So excited. I really admire those that do not have a temple close to home or easy access to go to the Temple because of babysit arrangements but they somehow make that commitment and go (like my sister Melissa) I say good for you for traveling half a day or more to go to the Temple! You will def be blessed for doing so and I hope that if that day comes when our Family moves and we dont live close to a temple I hope that we still strive to live temple worthy and do all that we can to go to the temple. But for now while we are 20 min from the temple I hope that we may take advantage of this exterordinary blessing we have of being so close and going and making frequent visits to the temple and helping others get there too.

Not so smart mom

Gave the girls a bath today Emily 3 1/2 yrs old now and Katie is 1 1/2. How old should your kid/kids be to leave them unattended in the tub?? You see I went into the next room to pick out some clothes for the girls to wear once they were done with there bath thinking all is good no worries but I still kept an ear out for Katie. Anyways I heard a thump and then Katie cry and then Emily "MOMMY"!!!! I ran in the bathroom to find Katie under the water eyes wide open squiggling around trying to get herself up out of the water to get a breath of air. Never do I want to experience that again! Stupid mom moment yes. Katie is way toooo young to leave unattended in the tub EVEN with her older sister. I knew that in the back of my head. What was different about today? I dunno. Thankful for Emily very much for yelling my name. Thankful I got to Katie in time. Thankful she is alive. Stupid scary mommy moment yes. Never will I do that again even if its just to grab a pair of clothes from the next room.

Potty Training

Been really easy and fast with Emily. She caught on quickly and is a smart girl! The way I have done it and I got the poster idea from my friend Kasey. I have a huge hot pink poster board and I wrote on it "Emily's potty chart!!" and even have some cury ribbon that I put on the side of the board some flowers too haha. Just wanted to really pretty it up and make it look important. Anyways what I have done is each time Emily goes to the bathroom successfully she gets one sticker to put up on her board. Its getting quite crowded up on that board! I give her high fives, hugs, and kisses too. Lots and lots of praise! it hasn't even been quite a week yet and shes got it down. She goes to the bathroom all by herself and doesn't rely or depend on "do you need to go potty?" reminders although I do give them.. and when i do, she just says nope. I have taught her also that when she has accidents to tell me and that she herself cleans it up and puts on clean undies and the dirty ones go in the laundry basket. I am teaching her to understand that accidents happen and that she is not a bad girl or so on and so on. She just realizes oh hey when I cry orhave a tantrum I tend to lose it or whatnot. It hasn't been a freak show at all with her potty training its just been pretty smooth. She does though and its so cute and funny is that while she is doing her business if Katie comes crawling around the corner you will hear Emily scream "KAtie NOOO get out"! And then the bathroom door slams shut. It's so cute. So I have a 3 year old who is succeeding at potty training! And I honestly would rather teach and go through the potty training experience when there this age. Instead of doing the 18 month and younger potty training? that I have heard horror stories on. So I am a happy mom who is feeling pretty good about the way things are going in life right now =) Gotta love potty training and the happy smiles Emily gives me each time she does her thing. So proud of you Emily! I love you kiddo

NannyGoat came up with a way to miraculously CLEAN her gas stove top grates. I am ALWAYS looking for ways/ideas to make life easier....and this SIMPLE way to clean 'de grates was one to bookmark!

The BEFORE & AFTER pics speak for themselves!! HOW did she do it?? So simple! She put them in a ziplocked baggie, sprayed some ammonia in there, sealed it, and let it sit overnight.


WA-LAAAHHH!! Gor-geous grates! This will come in handy since we now have a gas stove!
